Do you have a 2nd interview pending? Check out our top 8 tips!
1. Keep up your enthusiasm.
It is important to demonstrate to your prospective employer that you are excited and enthusiastic about the prospect of working for their company. So make sure you are positive, enthusiastic and happy when sitting in the interview chair for a 2nd time.
2. Be prepared to answer variation of the same question.
You will often be asked a similar question in a range of different ways. Make sure you are prepared for this and often a good way to respond is through a previous work experience.
3. Be concrete when discussing qualifications.
Ensure you are clear on your qualifications and exactly what you have studied or experienced. Do not exaggerate as it will only come back to bite you!
4. Be ready for a group interview.
Often the second interview consists of a range of people asking you questions. Be prepared for this and try and get some knowledge beforehand as to who will be in the interview room.
5. Be prepared to ask questions.
Research, research, research! It is vital that you have done your homework on the prospective company you want to work for. Prepare some questions beforehand and make sure the questions demonstrate that you are knowledgeable about the company, it’s services and history.
6. Send follow up communication.
After your second interview it is always nice to have an excuse to call or make contact with the prospective employer. This can be anything from reference information to just making sure they had all the information they needed about you to make the right decision!
7. Make sure you are clear you want the job.
Do not leave the prospective employer wondering whether you ‘really’ want the job or not. Ensure you are clear that you are super keen!
8. Maintain occasional communication with future employer.
If the decision process takes longer than expected don’t forget it is always nice to stay in occasional contact to ensure you are still top of mind.
GOOD LUCK!
